The FLITE series (Female Leaders in Insurance Technology Event) is our new networking series, launching in January 2022 specifically designed for women in InsurTech.
When looking at gender parity, or lack of, it would not come as a shock that the insurance industry as a whole is lacking in this field. With the 300 year old industry favouring tradition and legacy over diversity and inclusion, there is no doubt that there is progress to be made in readdressing this gender imbalance. Yet given that the InsurTech industry in comparison is relatively new and dynamic, it is surprising to see that it mirrors these archaic gender norms and boasts a surprising levels of under representation and deselection. This begs the question; how did this happen, and why such a big gap?
Our new event series, FLITE, seeks to provide an inclusive platform for women to discuss the challenges that they face. Through a series of panel discussions, round tables events and mentoring opportunities, we hope to provide a new way for women to network and support one another.
